Scar Revision Surgery Clinic in Surat
For smaller scars, simple scar revision procedures can be conducted under local anesthesia. The process involves removing damaged skin and creating a flap from surrounding healthy skin. The flap is strategically aligned to disguise the scar site, requiring the precision of an experienced Plastic Surgeon.
To reduce scar visibility, doctor may use dermal fillers, injectables, or gels, aiding in seamless blending with the surrounding skin. The treatment may involve single or multiple sessions based on scar size. At Celebre Aesthetics, Surat, emphasis is placed on excellent post-operative care for optimal results.
Z Plasty is a dependable surgical procedure for scar revision or repositioning, requiring a highly skilled cosmetic surgeon due to its intricate operating techniques.
This procedure involves lengthening or breaking the scar and strategically camouflaging it with the surrounding skin, aiming to make the scar appear natural. Z Plasty is performed under local anesthesia and has demonstrated excellent results for our patients.
In scar revision procedures, a novel technique known as Fat Grafting, or “Autologous” fat grafting, is employed, utilizing the patient’s own fat cells. This innovative treatment involves liposuction, extracting fat from one part of the body, followed by injecting the tissues into the scar site.
This technique is particularly effective in treating depressed scars, such as acne scars.
Skin grafting is akin to fat grafting. In the skin grafting procedure, the doctor removes healthy skin from a part of your body and grafts it onto the scar site. This enhances the appearance of the scar site, seamlessly blending it with the rest of the body. This procedure is often recommended for patients with scars resulting from burns.
In our clinic, one of the most non-invasive scar reduction procedures is a chemical peel.
The treatment entails applying the chemical peel to the scar site and subsequently cleansing both the peel and the skin underneath. Peeling agents effectively eliminate the old outer layer of scarred skin, facilitating the regeneration of new skin. This results in a scar that appears less visible and more normal.
This procedure is particularly effective for mild scars.
Keloids are a type of scar that extends beyond the skin’s surface and spreads into the surrounding normal skin. They often appear after an injury has healed, causing itchiness and pain.
Various treatment options are available for Keloid Scars:
- Intralesional Injections: The surgeon administers intralesional injections at the scar site, breaking the bonds between collagen fibers. This helps reduce the size of the scarring, with the injection amount determined by the scar size & patient’s health conditions.
- Surgical Excision: For certain keloid scars, surgical excision may be recommended. During this procedure, the doctor removes the keloid in a small surgical intervention and injects intralesional steroids to aid in healing.
However, it’s important to note that keloid-based scars have a probability of recurrence even after the best treatment.
